Very Narrow Aisle ( VNA ) racking is similar to Selective racking but decreases the aisle widths by 50% for greater storage capacity. Special lift trucks are required for this system.
Operational Considerations:
- Advantageous for high SKU counts, with pallet in / pallet out or pallet in / case out movements.
- 100% pallet selectivity - can pick cases at elevated levels with order picking truck.
- Utilizes specialized VNA lift truck.
- FIFO ( First in, First out ).
Space Savings:
- Aisle space reduced by 50% or more vs. Selective.
